- Mix the tuna with the mayo, citrus juice, pickles, onion, Dijon, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Scoop 1 to 2 tsp from each avocado half to widen the well, season the cut sides, and brush with a little oil.
- Spoon in the tuna, top with cheese if using, and air fry 5 to 6 minutes for a warm centre or 7 to 8 for a toasty edge. The avocado should stay green.
- Dress the greens with the oil and lemon, add the crunchy vegetables, and serve a boat alongside.
Notes
Just-ripe avocados hold their shape; very soft ones collapse.
Keep it short — a few minutes is enough to warm the filling without browning the avocado.
Variations: chipotle-lime, Mediterranean with feta and olives, or curry with a splash of lime.
