Air Fryer Pigs in a Blanket - Crispy, Quick, and Crowd-Pleasing

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 8 minutes
Total Time 18 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • Mini hot dogs or cocktail sausages (about 24 pieces)
  • Refrigerated crescent roll dough (1–2 tubes, depending on brand size)
  • Optional spreads: mustard, ketchup, or a thin swipe of barbecue sauce
  • Optional seasonings: everything bagel seasoning, garlic powder, or paprika
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, poppy seeds
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 teaspoon water) for shine, optional
  • Cooking spray or a light brush of oil for the basket
  • Dipping sauces: honey mustard, spicy ketchup, ranch, or cheese sauce

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes. A hot basket helps the dough puff and crisp evenly.
  2. Prep the dough. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Cut each triangle into three narrow strips (lengthwise) to fit mini dogs. If using full-size hot dogs, cut each into thirds.
  3. Add a light spread (optional). Brush a thin layer of mustard or barbecue sauce onto the dough strips. Keep it minimal so the dough seals and cooks properly.
  4. Wrap the dogs. Place a mini dog at one end of a strip and roll it up snugly. Leave a bit of the sausage peeking out at both ends for that classic look.
  5. Top and season (optional). Brush with egg wash for sheen, then sprinkle with sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, or a pinch of garlic powder.
  6. Arrange in the basket. Lightly spray the air fryer basket. Place the wrapped dogs in a single layer with space between them. Work in batches if needed.
  7. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway. Cook until the dough is puffed and golden and the sausages are heated through. Time can vary by air fryer model, so check at 6 minutes.
  8. Rest briefly. Let them sit 2 minutes after cooking to set the crust and cool slightly.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy immediately for peak crispness.
