Preheat your air fryer. Set it to 380°F (193°C).
A hot basket helps the glaze set and caramelize quickly.
Make the glaze. In a small bowl, combine honey, melted butter, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes (if using), and a few grinds of black pepper. Stir until smooth and glossy.
Prep the ham steaks. Pat the ham dry with paper towels. This helps the glaze stick and prevents steaming.
Lightly mist the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Brush with glaze. Coat both sides of the ham steaks with a thin layer of the honey glaze. Reserve half the glaze for basting.
Air fry the first side. Place the ham steaks in a single layer in the basket. Cook for 4–5 minutes at 380°F.
Avoid overlapping pieces.
Baste and flip. Open the basket, brush the tops with more glaze, flip the steaks, and brush the other side. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, or until the edges caramelize and the glaze bubbles.
Final caramelization. For extra gloss, add a light final brush of glaze and cook 1 more minute. The surface should be shiny and slightly sticky.
Rest and serve. Let the ham rest for 2 minutes.
Slice into strips or serve whole. Garnish with parsley or green onions if you like.
