Method
- Unroll the dough and pinch the seams into one rectangle. Spread a thin layer of mustard, leaving a 1/2-inch border along one long edge. Layer the ham, then the cheese.
- Roll snugly from the opposite long edge toward the border. Freeze the log 10 to 15 minutes so it slices cleanly.
- Cut into 1/2-inch pinwheels.
- Preheat to 350°F. Set the pinwheels cut-side up on parchment, brush with egg wash, and dust with seasoning. Cook 8 to 10 minutes until deep golden.
Notes
Thin layer of mustard — too much and the spirals go soggy.
Chill the log before slicing or it squashes.
