Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon 6 to 8 oz each, skin-on
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 lime zested and juiced
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • black pepper
  • chopped cilantro to garnish

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Small bowl
  • Meat thermometer
  • Paper towels

Method

  1. Pat the fillets dry, rub lightly with oil, then coat with a mix of the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, lime zest, salt, and pepper. Rest 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (205°C) for 3 minutes.
  3. Cook skin-side down 8 to 10 minutes, until the fish flakes and the surface is set.
  4. Rest 2 minutes before serving. Squeeze lime juice over and scatter cilantro.

Notes

Zest before juicing and use both — the zest carries most of the lime aroma.
Add fresh jalapeño to the rub for real heat.
