Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked pulled pork (plain or lightly seasoned)
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce (smoky or sweet, your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional, for sweeter sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 12 slider buns (brioche or potato rolls work great)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • 1 cup coleslaw (store-bought or homemade)
  • Pickle chips, sliced red onion, or jalapeño slices (optional toppings)

Method

  1. Prep the pork: In a medium bowl, mix the pulled pork with BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar (if using), smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Preheat the air fryer: Set it to 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes. Preheating helps the pork heat evenly and develop slight crisp edges.
  3. Warm the pork: Line the air fryer basket with a small piece of parchment or foil to catch sauce. Spread the pork in an even layer. Air fry for 5–7 minutes, stirring halfway, until hot and lightly caramelized.
  4. Toast the buns: Brush the cut sides of the slider buns with melted butter. Place them in the air fryer, cut side up, and toast at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes until golden.
  5. Assemble: Pile warm BBQ pork onto the bottom buns. Top with coleslaw, pickles, and any extras you like. Close with the top buns. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the tops if you like a little texture.
  6. Serve: Enjoy right away while warm and saucy. Keep extra coleslaw and pickles on the side for topping at the table.
